Filtration
Primary
Primary filtration involves using septa and filter cells classified within the ISO coarse group according to EN ISO 16890-1. Typically applied in civil air conditioning and serving as prefilters for the most efficient sections, it plays a crucial role in optimizing filtration processes.
Filtration
fine
This represents the most critical aspect of filtration, designed to capture what is known as ‘fine’ contamination. This encompasses a broad spectrum of particles, making it a specialized and crucial element in the filtration process. Our range includes cells, pockets and filters typically categorised under the ‘M’ and ‘F’ classes as per EN 779:2012 standards.
Filtration
absolute
It represents the utmost level of filtration achievable in the present day. This range comprises all semi-absolute filters falling under class ‘E’ and absolute filters categorised as class ‘H,’ as per the European standard EN 1822-1:2019. These filters distinctly showcase the advanced technological standards achieved by our Group.
Filtration
Molecular
While the filters classified so far excel in efficiency, they are ineffective against pollution caused by volatile or gaseous substances. Hence, our production includes filters using activated carbon as a filtering medium, purifying the air through a chemical process, specifically designed to address these challenges.
systems
housing
To optimise the performance of the listed filters, it is essential to pair them with appropriate housings. That’s why General Filter provides a variety of equipment, systems, and accessories – often essential – to ensure the best possible end results.
Constant work on regulatory requirements
01
EN ISO 16890 Standard
Explore our air filters designed for general ventilation. Embracing the latest global standards, the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) has introduced EN ISO16890. This standard meticulously outlines the classification and testing procedures for air filters specifically employed in general ventilation systems. Specifically, EN ISO16890 focuses on air filtration elements, addressing particle sizes ranging from 0.3 μm to 10 μm.
02
UNI EN 1822-1:2019 & EN ISO 29463 standards
High-efficiency air filters, including EPA, HEPA, and ULPA filters. This standard is relevant for top-performing filters used in ventilation, air conditioning, and critical applications like clean-room technology or the pharmaceutical industry. The above sets forth a method for determining efficiency using a particle counting technique with a liquid (or alternatively solid) test aerosol. It enables the standardised classification of these filters based on their efficiency.
03
ISO 14644-1 standard
Clean rooms and associated controlled environments Part 1: Classification of air cleanliness with ISO 14644-1, defines standards for clean rooms and controlled environments. This standard classifies air exclusively based on the concentration of suspended particles. Moreover, when classifying according to this standard, particle sizes ranging from 0.1 microns up to 5 microns are considered.
04
EN 16798-3:2018 standard
Ventilation of non-residential buildings. This standard is applicable to the design and implementation of ventilation and air-conditioning systems tailored for non-residential buildings with human occupancy. Please note that it excludes applications related to industrial processes. It outlines the key parameters crucial for these systems, with a focus on non-naturally ventilated buildings, excluding consideration for naturally ventilated structures. This standard, currently undergoing revision, concentrates on establishing a comfortable and healthy indoor environment through the implementation of ventilation systems with reasonable operating costs.
05
UNI 10339 standard
High efficiency air filters (EPA, HEPA and ULPA).
The standard applies to high and ultra-high efficiency and ultra-low penetration air filters (EPA, HEPA and ULPA) used in ventilation and air conditioning, as well as in technological processes such as clean room technology or the pharmaceutical industry. The above sets forth a method for determining efficiency using a particle counting technique with a liquid (or alternatively solid) test aerosol. It enables the standardised classification of these filters based on their efficiency.
06
UNI 11425 standard
Ventilation and air-conditioning system with controlled contamination (VCCC) for operating block Design, installation, commissioning, qualification, operation and maintenance. This standard offers guidelines for designing, installing, commissioning, performance monitoring, acceptance, and management of systems and components dedicated to controlling environmental contamination and maintaining predetermined thermo-hygrometric conditions in wards designed for surgical activities, commonly referred to as operating blocks.
